PLAGERISM is rampant on the internet. This is a fact that
I have only
recently learned. A respected collegue of mine helped me to see
the
full extent of the problem. Small people who live in small countries
suddenly grow balls enouogh to steal from you and think you will
be
too plebian to notice. Think again.
STORK ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Here we are arriving at the end of another month. I am feeling
truly
blessed to be back in the horse world at this time. My last
three
purebred foals have all been beautiful healthy fillies and I feel
as
though the Horse Gods are smiling upon me.
On May 26, Elspeth (see stock list) had a fabulous "golden"
filly with
black points, mane and tail, no white and an extremely strong
skeleton.
She literally came out of her mother, flopped for about 7 minutes
then
stood up with a lot of grace and started getting on with her life.
Incidentally she was born on Judtith's bd my elder half sister.
On May 21 ES Brazilia (see stock list) had a highly functioning
and
independant bay filly with a stripe and no white feet, named Viktoria
(for obvious reasons if you are Canadian as we still celebrate
Queen
Victoria's birthday here for some reason) and in light of her
very famous
grandsire's name: Wiking.
Week2:
May 26 is strong, determined and fearless. She is inbred to the
top
French sire Cheri Bibi through her grandsire, Haffir El Rimal.
She is also
intensely linebred to Forta from Susan Bellonzi's mare, Dunaforta
and
even *Falat. She is evidence to my theory that inbreeding and
linbreeding
good horses intensifies the good qualities and overcomes the bad
but only
for one or at the most two generations.
May 21 is active and bold and still very independant. She has
a sensible
eye with enough human showing to prove she is from the *Wiking
and
*Falat "cross" that I have waited so long for...
Pardon the informailty of my thoughts but I think that's the entire
point of blogging although I will never really know what a blog
is.
The weather is so fair I can hardly believe my eyes. But we Albertans
know how to appreciate temperate weather since we have it so little.
The
sky is perfect the clouds are cumulous my son is on the riding
mower. It
just doesn't get any better...
Speaking of the riding mower the Jack Russell's ate all the wiring
including the battery cable trying to kill a squirrel inside the
apparatus.
It's quite amazing they weren't shocked from the battery cable
and
killed themselves instead. Or maybe they were shocked and they
got
over it very quickly as Jack Russell's will. I just look at it
as a lot of past
due babysitting fees on Jumper's part. He is a prince among dogs
and
he knows when to grab his moments. He is, after all a product
of Chivas
and Daisy two of the most interesting and beloved Jack Russells
I have
ever had the privilege of knowing. Now I have Sharkey, the runt,
to act
as my broodbitch and since I hand picked her after years of waitng
and
checking each related litter after the coyote murdered my Abbey,
I know
she will do the right job for me next year when I breed her to
Sir Milo
Angus Agopsowicz.
A question was posed in the last AHA magazine that I received.
What do
we do with all the unwanted horses? There are so many and
sometimes
when their breeders find out what has been done to them down the
road
in the saga of their sordid lives, its hard to keep going. I am
a libertarian
politically but when it comes to numbers of horses owned there
should be
a limit imposed. My friend Linda said this to me over the phone
today by
coincidence since I had been pondering the point already, and
I agree
with her 100%. She is republican. Unfortunately it is impossible
to impose
such a control. It has to be self imposed. That was preached to
me by my
parents though so I have always thought this way. Its quality
not quantity
that responsible breeders aim for. Since we can't screen people
for mental
health before they buy Arabs at least we should try to control
the numbers
that people accumulate. Of course, people would cheat like mad,
enlisting
their friends and relatives to particiapte in their megalomanaiac
horseflesh
collecting addictions. Is there a horse addicts anonymous? I bet
there is in
California.
There is no news about Lethbridge Racing except that they continue
to
ignore us. Colorado looks interesting...
I am going to try and promise new photos by end of July
as I will take
lots with me to Europe to mail to Tom.
Never say never. I have a new stallion: Wotan. He is by
Eldans Wotan
(*Wosk x Zortana by Czortan) and out of MCD Sita (*Mellon x Babe
by
*Orzel). He is a half bro. to Fallkon (by *Falat) who won big
in Texas then
chipped his knee as soon as I went home. That horse taught me
a lot of
lessons. I owned Zortana towards the end of her life-she was a
very
substantial and gentically typical mare, and *Wosk only left one
pure
polish son that I ever heard about. *Wosk, of course, being the
best
racing son of *Pietuszok in Poland and that's saying something.
Here is
his stellar race record: 6/31(10-7-6) including Derby, Pelkinie
Stakes and
four other stakes: talent and durability. Wosk's dam Worskla is
also the
dam of Wilma, *Wiking's mother. Furthermore Worskla is a daughter
of
the great Laur 4/16(10-1-2)Derby, Criterium and four other stakes.
Talk
about a royal racing family. I couldn't resist and besides I have
already
seen Wotan's handiwork with Arieadne. Siberia will be his first
conquest
when he gets here. I know its late but its more natural for the
horses, less
work for me and I usually don't race until they're four anyway.
So, I am off to France from June 24-July 9. Blog you later.

Arabian Sirelines In order to talk about prominent Polish sires in a coherent fashion it is necessary to look at the sire lines these stallions represent. |
